In april 2026 werd ik gek, maar dan ook knettergek van mijn voicemail. Ik had er namelijk eentje al een paar weken staan. Toch dacht ik: nou, ik probeer het nog maar. Ik bel nog maar eens een keer, kijken wat diegene te vertellen had. Het was een heel lang bericht. Ook eigenlijk best wel nietszeggend, nu ik erover terugdenk. En ik weet nog dat ik halverwege het bericht per ongeluk ophing. Dat is echt het meest vervelende wat je kan doen. Dan begint dat bandje weer helemaal opnieuw. En kan je het bericht weer vanaf het begin luisteren. Ik had dat lange, nietszeggende bericht afgeluisterd. En aan het einde hoorde ik: toets 1 om te bewaren, en 2 om te verwijderen.
En dat was het moment dat ik dacht: waarom gebruiken we dit nog in 2026? Dat is toch ongelooflijk. Zo’n oubollig rotsysteem. Dus ben ik maar gaan bouwen.
En het begon met het systeem dat geluid omzet naar tekst. Ik was namelijk achtergekomen dat dat door de innovatie van AI stukken beter kan en veel makkelijker te maken is dan vroeger. Ik ben het systeem zelf gaan gebruiken. Niet meer die rotvoicemail terugluisteren, maar gewoon het bericht ontvangen waarvoor iemand je belde.
De logische volgende stap, dat was een AI-receptionist. En dat ben ik gaan doen omdat ik heel vaak de opmerking kreeg: ja, een voicemail gebruik ik toch al lang niet meer. En ja, dat is ook zo. Maar nu krijg je iemand die opneemt en doorvraagt. En waardoor de gebruiker daadwerkelijk een volledig plaatje heeft van wat de beller eigenlijk van diegene wilt.
Maar er kwam steeds meer vraag, dus heb ik ook voor bedrijven gebouwd en verschillende abonnementen aangekoppeld. Zo kunnen we nu bijvoorbeeld ook een AI-receptionist leren en die de juiste input voorzien van jouw bedrijf en veelvoorkomende vragen al te kunnen beantwoorden. Waardoor je dus echt niet meer de telefoon hoeft op te nemen.

What's the difference with my provider's regular voicemail?
